Raptors President Masai Ujiri Indicates He’s Not Interested in Other Openings
Nick Turchiaro-USA TODAY Sports

Raptors president Masai Ujiri has been linked to the Wizards, but from the sounds of things, he fully intends to stay in Toronto.

“Until you guys kick me out, I’m gonna be right here with you guys,” Uriji said, via Eric Koreen of The Athletic.

Ujiri recently has been linked to the vacancy with the Wizards, who parted ways with GM Tommy Sheppard earlier this week. The Wizards are looking to hire someone from outside the organization, team owner Ted Leonsis said.

Meanwhile, Ujiri is in the process of trying to find a new coach after the dismissal of Nick Nurse on Friday. As we relayed here, former Celtics coach Ime Udoka is believed to be a strong candidate.

Ujiri, 52, has been head of basketball operations with the Raptors since 2013 — and most notably pulled off a trade for former star forward Kawhi Leonard, which spurned the tea’s lone run to the championship in 2019.
